Mixing up a bit of Business...

Last Wednesday we had the pleasure of hosting an educational seminar and business to business mixer with the New Jersey Wedding Vendor Network. The afternoon Educational Seminar on “How to Make Your Print and Online Advertising Work Together,” (led by Alan Berg; renown wedding industry expert, Amy Wilkins; Senior Vice president and publisher of Martha Stewart Weddings, and Brian Laurence; author of “The Wedding Expert’s Guide To Sales and Marketing” and CEO of Local Traffic Builder), left industry professionals enlightened and inspired. Leading into the evening business to business mixer where professionals were able to network and establish relationships with others in the industry, while enjoying a large vendor showcase.

New Twists on Traditions...
01/17/2012Our couples at The Rosewood have been putting so many fantastic twists on traditional wedding pieces we just had to share. Natalie and Michael who celebrated their reception here last Saturday had some witty ways to remember their special day. On each table in a framed message
they invited their guests to write a note so they could read them on their anniversaries to come. I thought it was a great way to celebrate their wedding anniversaries for the next ten years. The newlyweds also displayed a Webster’s dictionary which they asked guest to choose a word and write a message to the couple of why they choose that word for them. Such an everyday item but as they flip through it at home while looking a word and come across a surprise message I can only imagine the warm delightful feeling it will bring.

Rachael and Pete who are having their wedding here on May 19th sent over their save the date for us to see and we just had to share. Save the dates which used to be so simple and traditional have taken on a whole new significance in the past few years. Rachael handmade these amazing sun flower pieces which guests can either use as a magnet or hang on the wall, either approach is a cheerful way to remind guests of the unforgettable day that is drawing near.
Congratulation Natalie and Michael wishing you years and years of happiness! Rachael and Pete we can not wait to celebrate your sun shinning, sun flowered filled day with you!!
REaDy For The Next Step...
01/04/2012As 2011 was coming to a close we celebrated the beginning of a new chapter for Wendy and Ryan.
Our newlyweds embraced the holidays creating a festive and fun wedding reception.
The Grand Ballroom was warmed with red touches. Wendy selected a red rose wedding cake,
red napkins, and candy canes on the tables.
Guest took home beautiful red monogrammed ornaments as favors.
I loved their sleigh and mailbox. Wendy’s father handmade their card mailbox
and sleigh which were the perfect touch to the festive holiday theme.
The sleigh was used during their ceremony for the ring barer to ride down the aisle in at the church. Congratulations Wendy and Ryan may you share a lifetime of joy together one new year at a time.
A Hue of You...
12/29/2011The color a couple chooses for their wedding helps tell the story of their day. Purple was the color of the year this year. Purple which is meant for royalty reigned on The Rosewood during 2011. There are so many ways to add small splashes of color that make a big statement. Flowers, shoes, dresses, cakes, favors, up lighting, sashes, napkins…ect. If you can envision it, you can create the perfect reception that will portray you. The shade of the color you pick can completely change the tone you are setting. There are various shades of the color purple: amethyst, eggplant, indigo, lavender, lilac, magenta, mauve, mulberry, orchid, plum, pomegranate, puce, royal, thistle, violet, wine. The bolder shades of purple are majestic and regal, while the lighter shades of purple such as lavender or lilac are delicate, sacred, and precious.

A Music Motif to Move You…
12/14/2011Friday evening we celebrated with Evelynn and John and their outrageously fun guests.
Our newlywed’s unique personalities were highlighted by their music selection.
Their guests enjoyed a runway walk-off with the bride and groom,
a surprising chase for the garter after the toss,
and a night of dancing to chosen tunes.
Their rice crispy wedding cake was the cake of Evelynn’s childhood dreams.

What could be more BLISSful than a winter wonderland wedding
reception? The tables were glistening with snow banks and
snowflake ornaments that adorned the bases of our centerpieces.
The candy cane Candy Bar and peppermint signature drink created
the most festive feel for this early December eve.
Sliver snowflakes were given as favors.
Congratulation Melissa and Joel may your marriage have
many snowed in evenings together.

11/08/2011This past weekend was full of love and loveliness at The Rosewood! We had one spectacular celebration after another... and it was fabulous!!! We kicked off the celebrating with Theresa and Monica's civil union... and I loved all of their details!
Theresa and Monica brought in personal photos to decorate our Garden "Ceremony" Room (above)... They also supplied a love runner to walk down the aisle on!!!! (below)
I love love love photos!!!! and Theresa and Monica displayed a ton! (above)
The happy couple gave out a bottle of wine and a love stopper to each couple as a favor!
Our next celebration was for Kristy & Carlos ....
As you can see from the photo above.... the couple opted to bring in fresh flowers for their centerpieces. They selected Brandywine Floral Design, one of our recommended florists, for the task! ... To compliment the flowers and the theme.... Kristy and Carlos selected burgundy chair sashes and raspberry napkins! It looked amazing in the ballroom!
We ended the weekend with Lilly's surprise 60th birthday in our Grand Ballroom! ... Happy Birthday Lilly! Congrats to both our newlyweds... Monica + Theresa ... Kristy + Carlos!!!! We wish you both a lifetime of happiness!!!

Instead of traditional centerpieces and table numbers ... the couple opt-ed for candy centerpieces!!! and named each table by the candy in the centerpiece! "Fall"ing in Love...
10/06/2011This past weekend our newlyweds, Stephanie and Michael, selected Fall for their theme.... and it was fabulous! They choose the perfect colors for their fall inspired soiree! ... and I just had to share it with all of you!
Stephanie and Michael's wedding cake was beautiful! The use of the yellows, oranges and reds with the rich brown trim... just screamed F-A-L-L!
The newlyweds opted for their centerpieces to match the theme too!
Stephanie and Michael's theme went perfectly with The Rosewood's Fall decor!
Their guests had a burst fall from the moment they picked up their seating cards!

09/28/2011On Saturday, September 24, 2011 we had a blast with Kristina + Paul's wedding reception! The couple had some steal worthy ideas.... that I just have to share with all of you!!!
Kristina + Paul incorporated an activities table for youngsters who attended their wedding celebration! This is a great way to start off a kid-friendly reception! Children are full of creativity and giving them array of toys, coloring books, crayons and candies... is a great way to keep the little ones having a blast too!

Kristina surprised her groom with his own cake!!!! Groom's cakes are all rage these days.... and the Grooms just L.O.V.E. it!!!!! Kristina was up to date with the current trend of having the cake reflect the groom's personal interest or hobby!
Lastly the couple opted for a Memorial table at their reception. The couple displayed white roses in memory of their deceased family and yellow for all of our soldiers still over seas.
This is a nice way to remember loved ones and to honor those who fight for our country.
Congratulations to Kristina + Paul..... and Paul THANK YOU for serving our country!

The Wedding Forecast ...
09/17/2011What an exciting week Lisa, Patty and myself just had... We had the pleasure of attending a conference called the Wedding MBA in Las Vegas. The Wedding MBA conference is three days of the business side of weddings.... And for us wed-geeks! We loved every second of it! It was an absolute privilege to hear the speakers share their experiences, knowledge, tips, and trends with all of us! I personally loved the technology seminars put on by Sonny Ganguly from Wedding Wire! Absolutely amazing... don't worry girls we will be ready for the mobile revolution!
Patty, Carla Roney from The Knot, Lisa, And myself, Julie (... Pictured above). Carla gave wonderful seminar about the "10 Hottest Trends"... Don't worry girls! I will be sharing them with you very soon!
Kathy Ireland with Lisa! Yes that's right! Kathy Ireland from Kathy Ireland Worldwide was a speaker at the conference!!!!! and we even had the opportunity to meet her! She truly was everything they say about her... AMAZING!
Some of the other speakers we had the pleasure of listening to were... Andy Ebony from The Wedding Marketing Authority; Chris Evans, the President of Wed Pro Boot Camp; Perry Merry, author of The Best Wedding Reception Ever; and Tammy Elliot, President of the Perfect Wedding Guide.
I also want to give a special thanks to Chris Garrow from Unforgettable DJs.... Thank you for your advice during the technology seminars!
I already can't wait to go next year!!! Stayed tuned because I will be sharing what I learned with all of you!

Oh la la Fabulous Weekend ...
09/07/2011We had such a wonderful long weekend here at The Rosewood! Even though summer is ending.... We ending it with style! We kicked off the weekend with Marion + Eugene on Friday night.
Marion + Eugene said I do on-site in our beautiful garden ceremony room... but prior to I do's the newlywed opt-ed for the trendy "first look" on our grand staircase. This allowed the newlyweds to get most of their pictures done prior to their ceremony.

On Saturday we celebrated Devyn's Sweet Sixteen in our Rose Ballroom. Devyn's color theme for her birthday bash was purple and it was beautifully accented through out the ballroom! Devyn's Mom did a beautiful job with all the DIY accents for the celebration!

We finished up the long holiday weekend with Lakiesha + James... Who rocked the socks of their guests with a Diamond + Pearls themed wedding reception. The lovely couple said I do on-site prior to their sparkly reception.

For favors... the newlyweds gave out rings!!! ... With this Ring wine bottle stoppers and key rings!
The sweet ending to the newlywed's wedding reception... A huge candy station!
